Historic Revival

Seattle Historic Restoration

This restoration project focused on preserving the original character of a turn-of-the-century home while thoughtfully integrating modern conveniences. The homeowners were deeply committed to maintaining the home's historic charm, ensuring that every detail was restored with care rather than replaced.

Throughout the process, our team of skilled craftsmen and carpenters paid special attention to the intricate woodwork, color palette, and architectural elements that defined the home's timeless appeal. From refinishing floors to restoring window framing, each step was taken with longevity in mind—ensuring these features endure for another hundred years.

One of the most pivotal choices centered on windows and glass inlays. The unique shape and materials required meticulous sourcing to match the original design while enhancing insulation. Similarly, the radiant water heating system was retained, blending historical accuracy with practical improvements. Electrical systems were fully updated to meet modern standards.

The home’s exterior also presented exciting challenges. Preserving a blend of materials—stone, stucco, and wooden siding—required expert craftsmanship. Our masons reinforced the brick foundation, and carpenters recreated hand-carved gables, ensuring authenticity in every detail. Even the wooden shingles, sourced to match the original design, were carefully selected to complete the restoration.

Ultimately, this project was a true balance between restoration and renovation, bringing new life to an architectural treasure while respecting its rich history.
